Andrea earned her Masters in Social Work from Adelphi University in 2007. She began her career in New York, working in residential care for more than ten years. In 2010, a unique and exciting opportunity came to Andrea to participate as a therapist in a research study for an adaptation of DBT for children (DBT-C). Andrea spent several years training and receiving consultation on a weekly basis with Dr. Francheska Perepletchikova, the creator and researcher of DBT-C. Andrea worked with the Greenville DBT Collective for 8 years prior to shifting her focus to anxiety based treatment with the Moment, Center for Anxiety Disorders. She was intensively trained in 2020 through the UPenn Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). She has completed both the intensive ERP training as well as the training for pediatric ERP, specific phobia training, and S.P.A.C.E training with Dr. Eli Lebowitz at the Yale Child Study Center. S.P.A.C.E stands for Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions and is a parent-based treatment program for children and adolescents with anxiety, OCD, and related problems. Andrea works with people of all ages with a strong focus on children and families. She has a passion for helping people find their confidence to get through anxiety and be able to do things they never thought possible.
