Brittain was born and raised in Greenville, SC, and he received his Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies and Philosophy from the University of South Carolina. Although academia was his original plan, he discovered the value of therapy services through personal experience and went on to receive an M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson in 2019. During this period, he had the opportunity to work with young adults in times of crisis and in a residential facility for those experiencing substance use concerns. After graduating, he worked in a hospital setting, providing emotional and social support to young adults with cancer and their families. Since then, he has developed a passion for helping teens/young adults and adults, particularly males, who experience obsessive thinking and anxiety find freedom and purpose in their lives. Brittain is working to specialize in more depth in techniques such as Exposure with Response Prevention and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to serve those with OCD and other significant anxiety disorders using evidence-based techniques. He is passionate about working with those experiencing religious-based concerns and walking alongside others as they work towards a more authentic and healthy way of life. While he believes healing is found through faith in Jesus Christ, he understands that not everyone wishes to approach counseling from that perspective. In his free time, Brittain enjoys spending time on the golf course, collecting baseball cards, and with his wife and their golden retriever. He looks forward to hearing from you and making positive changes together.
